Welcome back to At Home – Simple Southern Sundays. We asked a friend of ours prior to our church campout this past weekend if he’d be willing to share with the group on Sunday morning. He talked about change and how it affects our lives, and it was really thought-provoking for me throughout this past week. Maybe you have dealt with change recently or in your past. I would venture to say most of us have. At times, change is for the good, but sometimes it’s for the bad.

As I was out on the porch enjoying the October skies, I couldn’t help but notice how the cloud formations were changing before my eyes. They weren’t drifting but literally changing shape as I watched. I ran into the house and got my camera. I took these photos from the exact same angle using my tripod. You can see how the clouds were changing formation in each shot. Each shot was probably taken about 15 – 20 seconds apart.

As you can see from these images, change is happening all around us. Sometimes, it’s just in the background like these clouds, and we never even notice it. Other times, it’s in our lives and affecting us greatly. It can be a change in jobs that create stress, a change in friendships, or even a change in your family due to the loss of a loved one. Regardless of what kind of change you’re going through, there is one certain that never changes…

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.   Hebrews 13:8

How comforting it is to know that regardless of what changes we are going through there is absolutely no changing of the One who can help us through it. You can look to Him and be comforted by the fact that no matter what you’re going through you can always count on Him being the same, and His love for you is a constant.

Do you have any thoughts or experiences with change that you would care to share? If so, I’d love to hear from you in the comments

Wishing you a wonderful week ahead…
