Strawberry-Chocolate Krispie Treats
Serving Up Southern
- 1 8- ounce bag of Strawberry flavored marshmallows
- 3 tablespoons of butter, cut in small cubes
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 1 dash of salt
- 3 1/4 cups Rice Krispie cereal
- 1/2 heaping cup of dried, candied strawberries
- Dipping chocolates, enough for dipping
Spray an 8x8 (or slightly larger, if cutting out) pan with non-stick cooking spray.
In a medium-sized saucepan melt butter and marshmallows on a medium-low setting, stirring often until melted and smooth.
Stir in almond extract, salt, and quickly add cereal and dried fruit Press mixture into prepared pan. Allow mixture to cool. When cool, cut-out desired shapes with cookie cutters.
Using a microwave safe bowl, melt chocolate in microwave until smooth. Dip and/or drizzle chocolate over hearts. Add sprinkles if desired.
