Cheesy Potato Casserole with Green Onions

Cheesy Potato Casserole With Green Onions

Serving Up Southern

Ingredients

  • 6 cups shredded potatoes (I use frozen hash browns.)
  • 2 cups sour cream
  • 10 ounces Sharp cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1 bunch green onions
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large mixing bowl mix together sour cream, cheese, onions, milk, salt and pepper. Mix well.
  • Add the shredded potatoes and mix thoroughly.
  • Turn mixture into a greased 13x9 inch casserole dish, smoothing out the top.
  • Combine the melted butter and bread crumbs and sprinkle over the top.
  • Bake for 50 - 60 minutes. If bread crumbs start to brown to quickly lay a piece of foil over the top.

Notes

6 medium potatoes may be used - cooked, peeled and shredded, in place of the frozen hash browns
