Brazilian Lemonade

Author Serving Up Southern

  • 4 fresh limes, washed thoroughly (try to pick out thin-skinned limes)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 6 cups water
  • 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk

  1. Wash limes thoroughly, then cut the ends off of each lime and cut into 8 pieces.
  2. Put the equivalent of two limes in a blender along with half of the sugar, water, and condensed milk.
  3. Blend up to 20 seconds. (Any longer than this will cause the drink to become bitter.)
  4. Pour the pulp through a fine-mesh strainer that's been placed over a serving pitcher.
  5. Repeat with the remaining limes, sugar, water and milk.
