You'd start a fight with a fencepost. Ain't nothin ever gonna make you happy. Do you boycott all clothes made with Cotton? "The more YOU Know." Stop buying those cotton pickin clothes, Ma'am. Stick with rayon, nylon, wool, spandex, polyester. Lots & lots of white people picked cotton, btw. Both my parents were pulled out of school at 12 years old, (not allowed to go back for anyone who might misunderstand) to PICK COTTON. Because their families could Not afford to EAT, without making children do hard labor. And Food Stamps, back then, was Govt rations, of Dry Beans, Flour, Rice, Dry Milk, & 'Government Cheese. They didn't go to grocery stores with SNAP cards, & eat anything they wanted, no candy, no ice cream, no sweetened drinks, not even juice. And no one 'traded their snap' cards for Cash, or drugs/alcohol. It ought to go back to that way, only add in produce, preferably that they have to go pick themselves! People would get to work real quick! It wouldn't be 'enabling' bad behavior, and people would be Motivated by their stomachs to do better! I'm not referring to WIC, of course WIC is very needed, for Mothers, Infants, Children. Did you also know, the vast majority of the White Southerners were NOT Plantation owners, but had to do hard work, farm, build, 'farm out their kids to work' just to keep everyone fed. Go 'on now, with your horse hockey.....& Get to Church & learn to appreciate some goodness in your Soul. But...be sure you aren't wearing Cotton!

I agree , Lisa. This was a fun bit of nostalgia till one person has to somehow bring racism into it. Hope she leaves her banners and bull horns home next time.

Who knows what a “bresh broom” is? We had bresh brooms that were home made to sweep the front yards with!
If you were caught cussin’ you might get a whooping with a bresh broom!

My Daddy used to tell me and my sisters he had better not ever hear we “wattin’ wearing’ enough clothes to pad a crutch” or he would come home and make us go cut our own peach-tree hickories he would whoop us with!”
Enough said. We never did!
Did anyone ever get a whoopin’ with a peach tree hickory stick you was made to cut, your own self?
